The start of EAPETEA was "Joint Symposium of plasma groups in Japan and Korea", which was first held in Jeju island Korea on November 2012.  The conference was annual event moving back and forth between the two countries until 2025. Professor Jie Li of Dalian Institute Technology proposed to extend this conference to China, and the 5th conference was held in Dalian as the first "East Aisa" event with three countries. The international committee decided to skip this coference when other well-established  international conferences are held in east Aisa.
